Faux \'fo\ Noun, French A simulated look, assume the appearance of or an effect fabricated with materials such as paint and texture; basic imitation of any texture or design.
In my business, "Faux" can be a bad word. There are some crazy finishes with sponges and bags. At Pattern, we strive to break out from the norm and the main stream do-it-yourself look. We like to honor the long standing tradition of decorative painting with class and style. We believe that when done well, faux can be very elegant, tasteful, and give a warm finished look to your space. Faux encompasses all decorative painting, including cabinet and furniture finishes, patterns, glazes, embossed relief, lettering, texture, murals, trompe l'oeil, and ornamental design.
